'Frankie's Dream' documents a family's love that overcomes the obstacles of autism. Frankie finishes the third grade as a top math student, but he's come a long way from his extremely dependent early childhood. Once under-developed in many areas, Frankie continues to push through the obstacles of life by leaning on his own courage and by following his parents' example and encouragement. John and Jane learn as much about life and especially love as they are challenged to guide Frankie another year towards adulthood and independence. They even begin an institution devoted to bringing autistic children and their families together, building a community of love and support amongst peers, as well as in their own home.
