　　Time does fly， it's been over five years since I took the position as Chinese Special Envoy to the Middle East. A 40-year diplomatic career has bestowed me with in-depth understanding of the region's complexity，the difficulty in resolving the issue and the witnessing of former Egyptian president Mohamed Anwar el-Sada's arduous Egyptian-Israeli peace process has also given me a strong faith in solving disputes through negotiations.

　　H.E.Wu Sike, born in 1946, is a senior diplomat of China. He has served as a diplomat for over 40 years from 1971 when he started working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. He spent over 13 years working in Africa,served as Staff of Chinese Embassy in Egypt, Attache of Chinese Embassy in Egypt, Minister Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Egypt and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Egypt.H.E.Wu Sike holds various social positions besides his major work. He serves as vice president of Chinese-Arab Friendship Association, vice president of Asia-Africa Development and Exchange Society of Ch/na, standing director of Chinese Association for Middle East Studies, director of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, director of Chinese Association for International Understanding, and as a professor for China Foreign Affairs University,University of International Business and Economics and Beijing International Studies University. He has been invited to give lectures in many universities all over China for history and current situation of Africa and the Middle East, and foreign policy of China.H.E.Wu Sike actively promotes political mutual trust, economic mutual benefit and cultural exchange between China and Africa, works hard for developing friendship and cooperation between China and Africa for decades and gets awarded the Exemplary Diplomat Prize for his contribuOon by Writersl Association of West Asia and North Africa.
